Plasma for facial rejuvenation
Plasmage is an aesthetic medicine treatment that uses a plasma current, the fourth state of matter, to act on the layers of the skin in an atraumatic way. The energy of the plasma makes it possible to sublimate the excess skin, encouraging skin contraction, with a facial rejuvenation effect without resorting to the scalpel.
It is a treatment particularly indicated for dermatochalasis of the upper eyelid, that is, the excess skin that weighs down the eyes, and for crow's feet. It is not limited to the eye area, however: Plasmage is also an effective answer for softening moles, spots, scars and other skin imperfections on the face.

What Plasmage is
Plasmage is a technology that uses the plasma current to work with precision on the surface of the skin. The plasma, generated by the device, makes it possible to treat specific points of the skin without direct contact and without incisions, reducing the trauma to the surrounding tissues.
This approach makes it a valid non-surgical alternative for those who wish to improve the appearance of the face, particularly in the areas where the skin has lost tone and elasticity. The main effect is the contraction of the skin, which appears tighter and smoother.
How the plasma current works
The device generates a small plasma discharge that acts on the skin by sublimation, that is, by removing the excess skin layers in a targeted way. This action stimulates the natural contraction of the tissues, with a result that is noticeable right away and that continues to define itself over time.
Because the action is localized and precise, Plasmage makes it possible to work on delicate areas such as the eye contour with great accuracy. It is precisely this precision that makes it indicated for treating the eyelids and small imperfections of the face.

The indications: eyelids, wrinkles and imperfections
Plasmage is indicated for a range of aesthetic facial needs. The most frequent applications concern:
• Dermatochalasis of the upper eyelid: the excess skin on the eyelid that makes the eyes look tired and heavy.
• Crow's feet: the fine lines that form at the sides of the eyes.
• Moles, spots and scars: the skin imperfections one wishes to soften.
• Other facial imperfections: small concerns assessed case by case by the doctor.
The precise indication is always defined at the consultation stage, where the doctor assesses the type of concern and determines whether Plasmage is the most suitable solution.
A non-surgical blepharoplasty
Because of its ability to remove the excess skin of the eyelid, Plasmage is often described as a non-surgical blepharoplasty. It makes it possible to obtain an effect of rejuvenating the eyes without the incisions and the recovery times typical of surgery.
It nonetheless remains a medical procedure in every respect, one that requires assessment and performance by an experienced doctor. It should therefore not be considered a surface cosmetic treatment, but a course to be approached with proper awareness.
The treatment
Plasmage is performed in the clinic, with the application of an anesthetic cream that makes the session completely painless for the patient. The time required is about 50 minutes, depending on the area to be treated.
The results can be appreciated straight away, while the complete healing of the tissues takes a few months. It is a quick treatment, but one that should be part of a course planned with the doctor.
The course: downtime and healing
Although it is a minimally invasive treatment, Plasmage should not be taken lightly: it is a medical procedure with a downtime of about 7 days. In the days following the session it is normal for small scabs to appear, which remain for about 5 days and must be protected with the specific creams prescribed by the doctor.
Complete healing takes about 2 months, a period during which slight redness may persist at the eyelid. During this phase it is important to follow a few recommendations:
• Always protect the treated areas from the sun , with cream, sunglasses and a hat.
• Avoid other aesthetic procedures in the area until healing is complete.
• Follow the doctor's instructions on the use of the prescribed creams.
